Hi Friends! Welcome to February’s edition of Tea Tuesday! I have been MIA in the blog world recently. This in part due to a wonderful family cruise we went on, and then followed by a lack of motivation after coming home to the polar vortex!
Anyhow, I am excited to get back to sharing on the blog again! With that being said, lets get into some of my most recent favorites!
Recent Tea Obsession: David’s Tea Santa’s Secret
I was in Columbus a couple of weekends ago and hit up David’s Tea at Easton for their Semi-Annual Sale! I picked up their Lemon Loaf Bread tea, which I was pretty excited for based on my experience with Tazo’s similar based tea. However, this one tasted like pure butter to me. I didn’t sample it, and ended up with a full bag of tea I didn’t like – Total bummer.
However, I also picked up their Santa’s Secret, and I fell in love with it! It is the perfect combination of comforting mint, and it is great for a cold afternoon pick-me-up!
Recent Experiences: Family Caribbean Cruise
Andy’s and I family recently went on an 8 day Eastern Caribbean Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. A total of 8 of us went, which included my parents, in-laws, and Aunt and Uncle. While my family had cruised several times, it was both Andy and his parents first cruise. I love seeing a first time cruiser’s reaction to the size of the ship and everything it encompass. It truly is amazing!
We visited St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan, and Grand Turk. Each island was beautiful in its own unique way. The trip was a perfect way to break up the winter! Even better, I turned off my phone for 8 days and locked it in the safe. That detox felt fantastic.
This month I plan to do a feature on each of the island’s we visited along with some of my top cruising tips — keep a look out!
Recent Reads: Her Every Fear and Nine Perfect Strangers
My favorite thing about a tropical vacation is being able to binge read! While on the trip, I read Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty. In the book, nine individuals, many of whom are strangers, go to a Health and Fitness retreat for 2 weeks. However, once they are there they start to realize that the methods being used are a bit off. Things quickly escalate, and the 9 strangers begin to wonder what is going to happen to them.
I enjoyed the book, but I wouldn’t say I necessarily recommend it. At a certain point it just seemed to drag on, and it became more about wanting it be over rather then wanting to know what comes next.
However, I did read Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson and loved this book! This book is about a girl from London who has experienced some horrible things in life. Trying to get a fresh prescriptive she house swaps for 6 months with her cousin from Boston. When she arrives, she learns her neighbor has been murdered and even more so her cousin is a person of interest. Then the mystery of if her cousin is a murderer or not begins to unravel.
One thing that I like about Peter Swanson’s writing is the big picture becomes predictable at a certain point. What keeps you hooked is figuring out all the little details of the ‘How?’.
Favorite Beauty Product: Beauty Counter’s Peppermint Lip Conditioner
Do you wear chap stick year round? Andy is obsessed with it, and he puts it on 3-4 times a day every single day. He always has it on him. I ,on the other hand, am one of those people who only wear it when my lips are already really chapped.
Recently they have been horrible, so I pulled out Beauty Counter’s Peppermint Lip Conditioner, and I it is a game changer. I am already a big fan of the company and everything they are doing for clean ingredients, but this product in particular is one of my top favorites. Right when you put it on it starts tingling right away, giving you that satisfying feeling. It quickly transformed my lips back to normal!
That is a wrap for this month’s Tea Tuesday! I hope you have a great week! 🙂
